About Us

The Professional Skills Center is the continuing education division of Bryant and Stratton College. The college was founded in 1854 and has 15 campuses in four states. Bryant and Stratton College offers a variety of associate degree programs and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The Professional Skills Center at Bryant and Stratton College was founded in 1992. Our mission is to provide continuing education and professional development opportunities for students and the business community in Monroe County and the Finger Lakes region. We provide outcomes based adult education and corporate training at reasonable prices.

Wendy, after graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS in Information Technology, attended Capella University, an online university where she earned her Master's of Science in Instructional Design for Online Learning. Since then she has been instructing in both the academic and corporate arenas, focusing on software application training. She has designed several commercial, retail, and personal web sites in her spare time. Wendy prides herself in her ability to bring together her love of teaching and her technological knowledge in a way as to inspire those she instructs to reach beyond their comfort zone and explore the digital world.

Previous to coming to Bryant & Stratton, Alec ran a successful financial services practice for nine and one half years representing The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America and Park Avenue Securities through the local firm, the Capital Business Advisory Group. Before moving to the area, he lived in Cincinnati where he first taught school and then broke into sales with the Cincinnati based company, Phillips Supply. Today Alec lives in Pittsford with his wife, Debby, and his two sons, Joe and Danny.

Timothy A. McCardle, Director, Professional Skill Center, Rochester since 6/01. 1980 Graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Management. Worked as a trainer, then Customer Service Supervisor, and finally sales for 17 years with Delphi Information Systems in their Pittsburgh office. Moved to Rochester 10 years ago. Ran my own training company for the 5 years prior to coming to Bryant and Stratton College.

Kate Pizzo received her AOS degree in Medical Assisting from Bryant & Stratton College, and she received her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Roberts Wesleyan College. After graduating from Bryant & Stratton College, she worked at the University of Rochester for six years as a medical secretary.

In 2004, she accepted a position as the PSC Coordinator in the Professional Skills Center in Rochester, new York. She is primarily responsible for Financial Services support -- insurance registrations, course logistics, client inquiries, and payments. In addition to these responsibilities, Kate is also supporting the other programs within the Rochester Professional Skills Center.

Margot Schutte has been a program coordinator with the Professional Skills Center for over 3 years. She is responsible for coordinating two programs: IT and Medical Billing and Coding. She is also an adjunct professor for Bryant and Stratton College. She is teaching a course in Microsoft Office 2007. She has her Masters in Instructional Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology and her Bachelor's Degree in Business from Purdue University.
